Definition:

Where a service is provided by a business running a central order book, hosting on central servers and generally run by one or a small group of individuals with decision making power. The opposite of decentralized.

    The alternative to DeFi, decentralized finance. Centralised finance includes old school or trad-fi institutions like JP Morgan, Merill Lynch as well as newer centralized crypto exchanges like Binance, FTX and Kraken.

However, many believe it is more centralised as a result.
